The Tallapoosa Wellness Collective of Carrollton partners with educators and guides who are dedicated to the well being and health of both mind and body through the practice of yoga, tai chi, meditation, kids yoga, senior classes, and other inclusive activities. As a Collective, we also provide meeting space to our community partners and space for practitioners who optimize wellness.

A Morning of Yoga with Karen Sifton

Yoga involves working with Energy. Surrendering the physical blocks that inhibit the body. Letting go of the mental blocks that cause anxiety in the mind. Releasing the emotional blocks that produce fear in the heart. And it all starts with Presence. So join Karen for this morning of yoga and experience how we can begin the process of flowering the energy of Love on the mat: with mindfulness, non-judgment, and forgiveness.

Community Yoga Instructor support group and extended education meeting

These two hour Saturday meetings held at the TWCC and elsewhere in the community are for community yoga instructors and wellness practitioners who come together for specific topic discussions. Once a month, instructors volunteer to share their take on the topics in which they specialize. Topics may include anatomy in yoga, yoga philosophy, business ethics, meditation and leading meditations, and yoga forms and their history.

These community meetings are intended to create a strong, well connected, supportive group of individuals who all come to enjoy this practice and are choosing to share with others to build a strong foundation of support and connectedness so that we may grow deeper in our journey as teachers.

Donations are encouraged to cover the cost of the event.

Full Day Yoga Retreat: An Immersion in Traditional Yoga

All are welcome to join us for the special yoga event in Carrollton, GA as we immerse ourselves in a day of traditional yoga. This unique yoga retreat is designed to explore the aspects of yoga that are not typically included most yoga classes and will include various sessions with a variety of teachers from our community. In addition to yoga asanas (poses), we will also explore pranayama (breathing techniques), meditation, yoga nidra, yogic philosophy, mantras and chanting. We will also have a vegetarian potluck lunch.

This is a donation-based event and proceeds will be donated to Carroll County Animal Shelter and Humane Society. You are encouraged to come for the whole day, but you are also welcome to come and go as your schedule allows. Any donation amount will be greatly appreciated! No previous yoga experience is required. Please BYOM (bring your own mat) if you have one, otherwise do we have extras.
